Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich recognized Officer Bryan Duncan and the Glendale Police Department’s DUI Team for their outstanding efforts to get drunk drivers off the streets. Officer Duncan recently received the Traffic Safety Excellence Award from the California Office of Traffic and Safety for making nearly 100 driving-under-the-influence-related arrests this year.
“DUI-related traffic collisions are down by 24% this year, largely due to the efforts of these officers to enforce the law and protect the public,” said Antonovich.
First proposed by Officer Duncan in 2011, the DUI Team operates three days a week and has made 315 arrests this year, which is 53% of all DUI-related bookings in the city.
