ANTONOVICH CALLS FOR FULL REPORT ON SEXUAL ASSAULT ON MTA BUS
LOS ANGELES COUNTY — Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, MTA Chairman, has directed MTA CEO Art Leahy to provide a full report on the recent sexual assault on an MTA bus at next Thursday’s Executive Committee of the MTA Board of Directors as well as closed session at next month’s regular board meeting.
“The Board needs to have a full report on this incident, why it wasn’t reported to us in a timely manner, and what steps will be taken to protect the public – especially those who are most vulnerable,” said Chairman Antonovich.
The report will address the failure of MTA staff to adequately notify the Chairman, members of the Board and the public about the incident and the potential danger posed by the assailant. The report will also explain why previous incidents were not reported to the Board.
