PEDIATRIC DENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM APPROVED AT HIGH DESERT MULTI-SERVICE AMBULATORY CENTER
LOS ANGELES COUNTY — The Board of Supervisors approved a pediatric dental health program at the High Desert Multi-Service Ambulatory Care Center, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
The program will provide 2,900 dental visits to 1,350 children up to age 5 with children ages 6-17 accommodated as clinic capacity permits, supported by a grant from First 5 LA’s Oral Health and Nutrition Expansion and Enhancement project, and California Oral Health and Wellness, Inc. The estimated annual cost of the program is $901,178 and includes three one-year automatic renewals through June 30, 2017.
Supervisor Antonovich praised the decision stating, “The High Desert communities currently experience a lack of quality dental providers. This program is a great step forward that will improve the quality of life for the children and their families living in this region.”
