LOS ANGELES COUNTY— Supervisor Michael Antonovich, Chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, announced the opening of this season’s Dodger Stadium Express, a public-private partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers, MTA, the MSRC, AQMD and Metrolink.
“Established in 2010, last year was a homerun providing 136,000 fans a convenient, stress-free and no-cost ride from Union Station to Dodger Stadium. This also alleviated congestion and improved air quality,” said Antonovich, who also serves on as a member of the South Coast Air Quality District and Metrolink Board of Directors. “To reduce travel time, this year, we established a bus express lane along Sunset Boulevard.”
Beginning with Friday’s Dodgers/Angels exhibition game, the service is free for people with game tickets and will operate 90 minutes before games and 45 minutes after games.
Regular season service will begin Monday for the Dodgers’ opening game against the San Francisco Giants.
Additionally, Metrolink will provide special trains on the Orange County Line to and from Union Station for the four regular season games between the Dodgers and the Angels.
