MTA BOARD APPROVES NORTH VALLEY TRANSPORTATION BLUEPRINT
LOS ANGELES COUNTY – The MTA Board unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, Chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, to fund and develop the North County Multimodal Integrated Transportation Study.
“This comprehensive blueprint will provide North County residents a regional transportation roadway to develop, fund, implement and interconnect these vital projects,” said Antonovich.
The motion, co-authored by MTA Director Ara Najarian, will analyze linking the Antelope Valley’s multimodal and integrated transportation initiatives for the Palmdale Airport, the California High Speed Rail, XpressWest from Las Vegas, the High Desert Corridor, an upgraded Metrolink system to Los Angeles, an “inland port” complex, future light rail lines and other transportation.
“The Antelope Valley Board of Trade and its transportation stakeholders are to be commended for taking the initiative testify before the MTA on behalf of the Antelope Valley, providing tremendous support for this new study,” he added.
