INDEPENDENT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT
APPROVED FOR THE ANTELOPE VALLEY AREA PLAN UPDATE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY – The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich directing the Department of Regional Planning to prepare an independent Environmental Impact Report for the Antelope Valley Area Plan Update.
“Today’s action is the culmination of a community effort that began when the Planning Department announced its intention to downzone private land in the Antelope Valley, in some cases as much as one unit per 40 acres,” said Antonovich. “The Antelope Valley Area Plan deserves its own independent environmental review.”
This community effort was led by the Antelope Valley Area Plan Blue Ribbon Committee, with support from the town councils, the Westside Union School District, the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District, the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, the Antelope Valley Board of Trade, the Greater Antelope Valley Association of Realtors and the Los Angeles County Farm Bureau.
