The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion by Mayor Michael D. Antonovich extending a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of a suspect in connection with the vandalism and theft at the World War II memorial during Easter weekend at the Lancaster Cemetery District. Outdoor lighting and fixtures were stolen. An American flag and the flag hoisted to honor POW-MIA troops missing in action or taken prisoner of war were also stolen from the Veterans Court of Honor.
The Sheriff’s Department is still seeking assistance from the public with information that may aid in their investigation and requests the extension of this reward.
Mayor Antonovich encourages anyone with information to contact Sheriff’s Department Investigator Jeremy Edwards at (661) 940-3883.
