Mayor Michael D. Antonovich welcomed the new Japanese Consul General, Hidehisa “Harry” Horinoucchi, to Los Angeles County during a presentation at the Board of Supervisors meeting.
Consul General Horinoucchi has been in diplomatic service since 1980. His postings include Minister at the Embassy of Japan in Beijing, China and also Minister Plenipotentiary at the same embassy. The Consul General is a distinguished scholar and has been a lecturer in international law at Waseda University Graduate School of Law, and has written numerous articles on Chinese and Japanese international law. He has also written a book in Chinese titled, “The Longevity of Japan.”
