To streamline and reduce the cost of obtaining a permit in Los Angeles County, the Board of Supervisors has approved a motion by Mayor Michael D. Antonovich directing the CEO to identify a location at the Public Works headquarters to accommodate relevant staff from the departments of Regional Planning, Fire and Public Health.
“Consolidating all the departments necessary to process permits in one location will streamline the permitting process for residents and small business owners,” said Antonovich. “This vital improvement will allow county staff to communicate effectively with the public, resolve issues quickly, and create uniform timeframes for permit processing.”
Additionally, the motion also directs Regional Planning and Public Works to report back to the board in 60 days on their progress implementing an electronic system.
